nice. i found that if you pipe bomb it with 4 when you first see it in a corridor, if it kills you later on you only need to worry about shooting it when you respawn as you already dealt loads of damage.

If your still tryna get this sword remember to fully kill the guy other wise you won’t get it and instead farming two sword just get scavengers curved sword to power stance along side the bandits curved sword.

This extremely extremely late but this is a tip that I learned from this boss and can help anyone through out the WHOLE game. If you are a RIGHTY, switch deflect and attack in the menu, Ik it takes a while to get used to after playing for so long, BUT this made me deflect perfectly because it’s more natural or something idk. It worked for me.

This is 1000% the strategy that got me to victory. Everyone spamming “hesitation is defeat, stay aggressive” is missing the fact that Leeroy Jenkensing yourself to death isn’t conducive to learning. This strat reduces the number of moves you have to deal with and really makes clear when he goes for the firecracker. Just punish after the Mikiri Counter and his Ichimonji with Mortal Draw, learn to parry his few moves, *reset your posture*, and that’s the ticket.

Excellent, excellent guide! I "practiced" before facing this boss by pretending to be the one parrying during your gameplay footage to train my reactions to his phase 2 swipes. I went into the real encounter while wanting to learn phase 1 without Flame Vent. I ended up getting to phase 2 on the first try and ended up winning that attempt with the spear and an occasional umbrella use (I mostly ran away from the scream.) I didn't deflect too well, but I blocked most of the damage and deflected well enough to make him topple for the spear punish. I ate one sugar when it looked like I could pull it off and it worked! I was so nervous before the fight but it all came together like magic, thanks!

Guys you’ll definitely need that silver pickled foot, it helps a lot and arcane to. Once I ate the foot I got 2 in 10 mins
